STORY BEHIND SERENGETI.
The Serengeti first grabbed attention in the late 1800s for its vast plains and incredible wildlife. By 1951, it became a national park, but there was a catch—locals, especially the Maasai, relied on the land for grazing. To avoid evictions, they pushed for their own space, and in 1959, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area was created, allowing Maasai to live and graze cattle there while keeping Serengeti as a wildlife sanctuary. In 1981, the Serengeti was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, solidifying its place as one of the world’s most iconic natural wonders.
